I shot these pictures of Serena in May but never got around to editing them because I’ve been busy with school and work.I decided to go for a darker film noir style look after playing around with the settings and realizing the pictures looked so much better in black and white. It was originally part of a flour photography photoshoot I collaborated with my friend Lincoln Nguyen but he got more interested in the flour aspect of the shoot and I was more interested with playing with the strobe lighting and drapery in the dress.
Serena is one of my very best friends from school and we’ve known each other since day one of freshman year. She’s been my go to model since I started becoming interested in fashion photography around junior year. Her style is extremely eclectic and it’s always a pleasure shooting her for my various projects. We decided to go with a white, lacy dress with interesting drapery so she can move around and dance while we threw flour at her to photograph.
