Since it’s been a year since I started blogging, I thought it would be appropriate to enlist the help of an old friend in this post. When I first started blogging, my friend Michelle would always help me take pictures for my posts while we were on break at work. We’d wander around from our office in Old Town Pasadena and snap photos of each other’s outfits in the alleyways and buildings in the area. It sure takes me back so some fond memories!
Since I’ve been on an incredibly tight budget, I’ve began to rely on fast fashion brands like Forever 21 to add some spice to my wardrobe. Their clothes are cheap and always in style. My motto is to always find timeless staple investment pieces that are always worth the extra money and then spice them up with cheap fast fashion finds. In this case, most of my go to staples also happen to be second hand items! This awesome Urban Outfitters bag is a thrifted find from Crossroads Trading Company along with my necklaces. The Timex watch I bought off a friend, and the ring is an antique that I got last summer. And finally, the Armani jeans were from an ex roommate that didn’t want them anymore when we moved out of our old apartment.
I’m still a big fan of the long line tee trend from last summer. Streetwear brands are still sporting this silhouette and I intend to ride it out for a very long time. I love how tucking in the hem in one corner adds interest to any outfit and helps break up an otherwise basic look.
In other news, I’m happy to announce that in the next couple of months Michelle and I are going to be collaborating on a variety of projects so please keep an eye out! To celebrate the many new projects in the future, please head on over to cytherialphotography.com to see the images of Michelle’s outfit that I shot that day!
Happy Hump Day, everyone!
