This past weekend, I was able to snag an opportunity to shoot my friend Stephanie Wong of Divenire.me for her blog. It’s been so long since I’ve been able to take my camera out and go shooting. We met in the downtown Whittier area and got to work scouting locations. It’s been a long time since I shot regularly and I certainly felt rusty. Hopefully in the coming weeks I can finally get my groove back together and pick up where I left off!

I recently got a new prime lens from Simon’s Camera going out of business sale and I was so excited, but also nervous to put it to use. It’s a manual focus lens and up until now, my lazy self was only used to shooting in auto. It took some getting used to, but I got the hang of adjusting the focus pretty quickly and soon enough we were snapping shots all over downtown!

Another first for me was processing these images using Lightroom instead of Photoshop. You would think that after all these years of shooting, I’d be a Lightroom fanatic, but I just felt more comfortable using Photoshop to tediously edit my photos. I finally buckled down and learned the basics of Lightroom. My workflow has sped up SO MUCH. I honestly don’t know why I never switched over sooner…
